Technical Note
CHNS analysis of fluorinated samples
The analysis of fluorinated samples is a standard task for users of elemental analyzers. However, due to their chemical characteristics, fluorinated samples pose a potential problem to all elemental analyzers on the market when simultaneous CHNS or CNS analysis are performed. The main reason for this are the higher reaction temperatures used for sulfur analysis.
This Technical Note demonstrates that our elemental analyzers are ideally suited for the analysis of halogenated, especially fluorinated, samples and gives recommendations for the analysis of larger sets of fluorinated samples.
