Influence of the combustion temperature on TOC determination in surface and wastewater samples
Achieving high recovery and stability in TOC analysis throughout different sample types can be challenging. In many well-established international standards for water TOC analysis, either no information is given on the recommended combustion temperature or ≥ 680 °C are recommended independently from the sample type analyzed. However, salt containing solutions, particle containing solutions and solids may need a range of combustion temperatures to ensure full decomposition.
This Application Note highlights the influence of the combustion temperature on TOC determination in surface and wastewater samples.
