The Epsilon 2-12D LSCplus freeze dryer is a general-purpose, high-performance pilot unit featuring stainless steel shelves with internal heat transfer media channels for heating and cooling. This enables it to meet even the highest demands of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The main applications of the Epsilon 2-12D LSCplus include the drying of bacteria or cultures, viruses, serum fractions, blood plasma, antibodies, vaccines, medicines such as chloramphenicol or streptomycin, vitamins, biomass and plant extracts for biochemical tests.
Comparable to production machines
The Epsilon 2-12D LSCplus is comparable in most ways to larger production machines. It is a water-cooled system with generously sized compressors in a massive steel frame. The unit is mostly used with LSCplus or with a Siemens controller (for specialized functions) for developing recipes and for up scaling with the maximum number of PAT tools. The key features are the drying options using up to six shelves with a total area of 0.95 m2 and a shelf spacing of 51 mm, and a hydraulic stoppering device with optional stainless steel bellows seal. The Epsilon 2-12D LSCplus is also ideal for product development and small-scale production activities.
