How our analyzers work

High-temperature combustion
Our organic elemental analyzers use the safe, simple, and eco-friendly high-temperature combustion principle, with furnace temperatures well above 1,000 °C. Unlike wet-chemical methods, combustion analysis avoids toxic chemical waste, requires fewer reagents, and relies on durable components built to last - making it the cleaner, more sustainable choice for elemental analysis. This proven technology guarantees complete quantitative conversion of the sample to measuring gas, a prerequisite for highly precise results.

Patented ball valve technology
Most of our organic elemental analyzers feature patented ball valve technology that enables blank-free sample transfer, helping laboratories achieve cleaner measurements, greater accuracy, and higher sample throughput by minimizing carryover and background interference.
 

Advanced Purge and Trap (APT)
Our analyzers reliably measure even the most challenging C:N elemental ratios, up to 12,000:1, thanks to our proprietary Advanced Purge and Trap (APT) technology. APT separates the gases produced during combustion by selectively trapping and releasing each gas individually, preventing signal overlap and delivering precise, reproducible measurements of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulfur.

Built for Long-Term Reliability
Elementar backs the high-temperature combustion furnace and thermal conductivity detector (TCD) cell with a 10-year guarantee on most analyzers. All instruments are designed for minimal maintenance and straightforward daily operation.
