The most sensitive S and N determination thanks to two-channel system

The trace SN cube has an integrated two-channel system with two independent furnaces and combustion tubes, which makes it possible to adjust all parameters (temperature, injection volume, injection speed, etc.) for optimal sulfur and nitrogen determination with highest precision and accuracy. Samples are injected directly into the combustion tubes by the integrated 50 or 56 (temperature controllable)-position autosampler. The highly sensitive UV fluorescence and chemiluminescence detectors guarantee utmost sensitivity with detection limits of 6 ppb for sulfur and 15 ppb for nitrogen. This ultra-trace detection power gives rise to uncompromised sulfur and nitrogen analysis even in samples of lowest concentrations, and the two analyzers in one box design results in significant cost and space savings compared to the purchase of two separate analyzers.

Soot-free combustion for reliable results and low maintenance

In high-temperature combustion of oil and petrochemical samples, a well-known problem is soot formation caused by incomplete combustion. This affects data quality and also results in higher maintenance efforts. The trace SN cube successfully avoids soot formation by performing a catalyst-supported combustion, using especially developed catalysts which drastically optimize the oxidation process. With this technique, almost any sample can be ignited without soot production at injection volumes up to 80 μl, ensuring reliable results in any kind of sample and keeping maintenance as low as possible.

No cross sensitivities during sulfur determination

No more cross sensitivities during sulfur determination: the known problem of interferences in UV fluorescence detection by NO (higher nitrogen concentrations simulate too high sulfur contents) in common analyzers is solved by the unique N Excess module incorporated into our trace SN cube. Here, SO2 is collected at an adsorption column and released after the decay of the signal caused by NO. This technique allows the precise determination of 0.1 mg/kg sulfur in the presence of more than 100 mg/kg nitrogen.

Highest sample flexibility

The trace SN offers outstanding sample flexibility. Apart from liquid injections with the integrated 50 (not temperature controllable) or 56 (temperature controllable)-position autosampler, the analyzer can be equipped with an optional gas, LPG, or solids module for highest versatility in your sample matrices. For the analysis of highly volatile samples we recommend the use of our temperature-controllable autosampler. Retrofitting is easily done within a few minutes.
